Playing a varied repertoire, with Molly on vocals, for Rob's birthday party at All Manor of Events in Henley, just outside Ipswich. Great to be reunited with founder band member, Neil George, who joined us on Trombone.

A message fromn the host:
"Just wanted to say a massive thank you for Saturday night - you were fantastic and all the guests thought you were brilliant."

6th May 2023 - Coronation party, Holton St Mary

Great to celebrate the King’s Coronation at Holton St Mary on 6 May, with the fantastic Miss Molly Rose on vocals.
The enthusiastic crowd didn't let the damp weather stop them dancing the night away!

Great afternoon on Colchester Castle Park bandstand. This is what Sundays should be about: free live music in our beautiful park on our wonderful bandstand, with the audience enjoying listening and dancing!

“What a marvellous Sunday afternoon in the park. Sweeting swing group played for three hours. The park came to life. From there being only a few of us there as the group played more and more people sat to listen. Groups pf people got up to jive. This is how summer Sunday afternoons should be in our beautiful park. many many thanks to the Sweeting Swing Band. You brought the park to life.” Merle

8th July 2023 - Primary school tour

The Sweeting Swing Band was founded when Phil Sweeting, Karen Smout and others were in the Sixth Form. We wanted to share our love of music with local primary school children, and hopefully inspire them to learn an instrument. Over the years, we've kept up the tradition, visiting many schools including those that our kids were at. In 2023 we were delighted that Phil's son Ben Sweeting (now at Sixth Form college himself) was playing with us 'on tour'.
We played for Mistley and Lawford primary schools in Lawford’s school hall then onto Home Farm school in Lexden in the afternoon “Hi..just seen you and the band in today’s Home Farm school newsletter which our daughter emails to us each Friday..our grandson evidently came out of school full of enthusiasm for your performance..great to know you’re adding such rich musical experiences to the school day..no doubt I’ll hear all about it at the weekend..thanks so much..all the best..”

16th July 2023 - Farmers Market

We really enjoyed playing at the second Raydon Farmers Market on King George's Playing Field, Raydon. Thank you to everyone who came along, great to see everyone enjoying our music.
